Housekeeper/Linen Worker NB

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Housekeeper, you'll clean and maintain assigned areas of the hospital in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition to promote a clean and healthy environment for all employees, patients, and guests in accordance with departmental standards.

Every day you will adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You will apply specialized cleaning techniques to designated rooms and equipment, replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissues, and deliver clean linens to patient rooms.

You will be successful in this role if you consistently maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control while following safety protocols and departmental guidelines. Success also depends on reliability, attention to detail, flexibility to take on additional tasks, timely reporting of maintenance issues, and a proactive approach to responding to emergencies and supporting a safe, healthy environment for patients and staff.

• Ensures a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians promptly and courteously. Refers to each individual by name when appropriate. Screens individuals by requesting to see identification or visitor pass.
• Delivers the amount of linen needed to provide an adequate level of clean linen for the Hospital on a daily basis. Performs computer entries accurately, timely and on a daily basis.
• Clean patient rooms includes showers, tub rooms, plumbing fixtures, floors, walls etc. Restock paper towels, seat cover, tissue, and soap dispensers.
• Stores all clean linen delivered to the hospital in a manner that will prevent contamination.
• Strips and remakes empty beds/ discharge cleaning.
• Fills all clean linen orders for clinics and offsite buildings. Picks up soiled linen

*Job Requirements**Required*

• Completion of annual safety training.
• Completes and maintains required unit specific training.
• Must demonstrate a degree of literacy adequate to enable the employee to understand and carry

out written and oral instructions.

• Must demonstrate a degree of skill adequate to monitor numerical readings and complete

required numerical documentation.

• Ability to define problems collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to

apply commonsense understanding, to carry out instructions, furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

*Preferred*

• One year cleaning experience
