Housekeeping Inspector

Job Summary

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to verify cleanliness, safety, and adherence to brand standards
• Identify areas requiring cleaning or maintenance attention and communicate effectively with housekeeping staff to address issues promptly
• Ensure proper floor care procedures are followed, including carpet cleaning, tile maintenance, and polishing of surfaces
• Monitor janitorial supplies and equipment usage to optimize efficiency and ensure availability of necessary tools for cleaning staff
• Enforce health and safety regulations by inspecting for hazards, proper chemical storage, and sanitation practices
• Document inspection results accurately through reports and checklists, highlighting areas for improvement or immediate action
• Collaborate with housekeeping management to develop training programs aimed at elevating cleaning quality and operational consistency

Requirements

• Proven experience in cleaning, custodial work, or janitorial services within a hospitality or industrial setting
• Strong knowledge of floor care techniques including carpet extraction, stripping and waxing floors, and surface polishing
• Previous hotel experience or familiarity with hospitality standards is highly desirable
• Ability to perform detailed inspections with a keen eye for cleanliness and safety compliance
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with housekeeping teams and management
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during inspections
• Knowledge of health regulations related to sanitation and cleanliness practices in commercial environments
