Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, common areas, restrooms, and clinical spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
• Handle laundry tasks including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and clothing in accordance with healthcare standards
• Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines to ensure safe handling of chemicals and cleaning materials
• Utilize proper manual handling techniques for heavy lifting and moving supplies or equipment safely
• Maintain sanitation standards by adhering to infection prevention protocols specific to healthcare environments
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and steam cleaners efficiently and safely
• Document cleaning activities accurately and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly
• Support environmental services by ensuring floors are cared for with appropriate floor care procedures to prevent slips or falls
• Handle chemical agents with care, following safety protocols for chemical handling and storage
• Assist with patient comfort by providing prompt laundry services and maintaining a clean environment

Qualifications

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare facilities or similar environments preferred
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling and workplace safety
• Experience with healthcare infection prevention and control practices is highly desirable
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for managing cleaning schedules and laundry tasks
• Good customer service skills to interact professionally with staff, patients, and visitors
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment operation and floor care techniques preferred
• Ability to work independently while following established safety protocols and procedures

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 40.0 per week
