Housekeeping Manager

Branxholm Park is a family-run, luxury exclusive-use wedding venue near Hawick in the Scottish Borders. We host weddings, guest stays, viewings, events and changeovers with a warm, professional and guest-focused approach. We are looking for a practical, hands-on Housekeeping Manager to work alongside the team, not an office-only manager. The role covers guest bedrooms, bathrooms, social areas, kitchens, guest stays and wedding or event changeovers. It also covers nearby Hawick holiday apartments used by wedding guests and let through Airbnb and Booking.com. Pay is £15.00 to £17.00 per hour depending on experience, with part-time employment on a zero-hours contract. Hours usually range from 5 to 30 per week and vary around weddings, departures, arrivals, changeovers and bookings. Daytime work can include weekdays and weekends; evening work is not a normal requirement. You will lead by example, organise staff, rotas and work allocation, clean alongside the team and conduct final guest-ready checks. You will monitor stock, report maintenance or damage, help train new staff and work independently when needed. You must be reliable, organised, detail-focused, able to prioritise and a clear communicator with management and the cleaning team. You should be comfortable with last-minute changes and occasional short-notice holiday-let bookings. Housekeeping, hotel, holiday-let, care-home, commercial-cleaning or accommodation-changeover experience is useful. Supervisory experience is desirable, but formal management qualifications are not essential. Relevant experience is preferred rather than mandatory. Due to our rural location and the nature of the role, applicants must have access to their own car or reliable private transport. Branxholm Park is difficult to access reliably by public transport, and the role may involve travel between the venue and our Hawick properties. There is no live-in accommodation and travel expenses are not paid. This is a genuine employment role, not a freelance or self-employed position. This varied role may suit someone who takes pride in beautiful presentation and enjoys contributing to a warm family business.

Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
