Super 8 by Wyndham Wausau is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team. The Head Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining clean, comfortable, and welcoming guest rooms and public areas while ensuring that hotel cleanliness standards are consistently met.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, takes pride in their work, and can train, motivate, and supervise housekeeping staff while helping provide an excellent guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping Operations

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the housekeeping team.
• Inspect guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and public areas to ensure cleanliness and quality standards.
• Ensure guest rooms are cleaned and ready for check-in on time.
• Assign daily room-cleaning duties and prioritize rooms based on arrivals, departures, and occupancy.
• Assist with cleaning guest rooms and public areas when needed.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged furniture, and safety concerns to management promptly.

Team Leadership

• Train new housekeeping employees on cleaning procedures, hotel standards, and proper use of supplies.
• Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and quality of work.
• Prepare daily housekeeping assignments and communicate room status with the front desk.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive working environment.
• Report staffing concerns and performance issues to the General Manager.

Inventory and Supplies

• Monitor housekeeping supplies, linens, towels, and cleaning products.
• Maintain organized housekeeping storage areas and linen rooms.
• Help control supply costs by avoiding unnecessary waste.
• Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Guest Service and Safety

• Respond professionally to guest requests and housekeeping concerns.
• Follow hotel policies for lost and found items.
• Maintain compliance with hotel cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Protect guest privacy and secure guest rooms and hotel property.
• Follow all Super 8 by Wyndham policies and applicable workplace safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Good communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to lead a team and work independently.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical housekeeping duties throughout the shift.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays when needed.

Work Environment

This position involves working in guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, laundry areas, and other hotel spaces. The Head Housekeeper must be comfortable performing physical tasks and assisting the housekeeping team as necessary.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
