Swinton Park Hotel

Housekeeping Porter - 32 hours, 5 days over 7
We take pride in being a reputable and forward-thinking employer, committed to fostering a supportive, engaging, and dynamic work environment. As a carbon-neutral estate with an ambition to become carbon negative, we are equally dedicated to environmental responsibility as we are to our people. Our culture is built on continuous improvement, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose. We place a strong emphasis on the wellbeing of our team, recognising that our people are at the heart of everything we do.
Housekeeping is essential to delivering the comfort, elegance, and attention to detail expected of a luxury hotel. The team takes pride in maintaining immaculate guest rooms and public areas, working to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and consistency. Operating with care, professionalism, and discretion, Housekeeping plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and memorable guest experience throughout the hotel.
Are you practical, organised and someone who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes?
We’re looking for a Housekeeping Porter to join our team at Swinton Estate. This is a varied, hands-on role that plays an important part in delivering the high standards our guests expect, supporting our housekeeping teams across Swinton Park Hotel, Swinton Country Club & Spa and Swinton Bivouac.
About the role
You’ll help ensure that clean linen and towels are available where and when they are needed across the Estate, collecting and transporting linen between our properties and our onsite laundry.
Alongside laundry operations, you’ll support the wider housekeeping team to make sure our guest bedrooms and public areas are clean, welcoming and presented to an excellent standard.
Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting recycling and responsible waste-management practices

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Estate to maintain consistently high standards

About you
You don’t necessarily need previous hotel or laundry experience, as full training will be provided. What’s most important is that you’re reliable, have a good eye for detail and are happy working in a busy, physically active environment.
We’re looking for someone who:

Holds a valid UK driving licence

Has a positive, practical and proactive approach to work

Is organised and able to manage their time effectively

Is comfortable with a physically active role involving regular standing, lifting, carrying and bending

Has a basic understanding of recycling and responsible waste management

Is flexible and able to work a rota that may include weekends and bank holidays

Previous experience in housekeeping, laundry operations, hospitality or a similar environment would be an advantage, but it isn't essential.
Why join us?
