Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of all designated areas, including patient rooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, and common spaces
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and steam cleaners safely and effectively
• Follow established protocols for infection control and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards to ensure a safe working environment
• Maintain proper storage and handling of cleaning supplies and hazardous materials in accordance with safety guidelines
• Conduct routine inspections to identify areas needing attention and ensure compliance with sanitation regulations
• Assist with specialized floor care tasks such as stripping, waxing, polishing, and carpet cleaning to preserve flooring quality
• Collaborate with environmental services teams to uphold hospital or facility cleanliness standards at all times

Experience

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial cleaning environments preferred
• Experience working in healthcare settings such as hospitals or clinics is highly desirable
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to cleaning procedures and safety practices is essential
• Familiarity with environmental services protocols including sanitation standards and infection prevention measures
• Proven ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and efficiently
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments
