We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor to join the team at Airport Gateway Motel in Burnside, Canterbury. This is a part-time position that offers the perfect opportunity to lead and inspire our housekeeping team whilst maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests enjoy exceptional accommodation and facilities, directly contributing to the success and reputation of our motel.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise, train and motivate the housekeeping team to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality cleaning standards

• Inspect guest rooms, common areas and facilities to verify cleanliness and maintenance requirements are met

• Schedule and allocate housekeeping tasks efficiently to ensure timely completion of daily operations

• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ordering stock as required

• Respond to guest requests and complaints relating to room cleanliness and maintenance with professionalism and promptness

• Report maintenance issues and coordinate repairs with relevant departments

• Maintain comprehensive records of room status, maintenance schedules and staff performance

• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations across all areas

• Liaise with management regarding staffing needs, budgets and operational improvements

What we're looking for

• Proven supervisory or team leader experience within a housekeeping or hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning standards and best practices
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
• Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle guest concerns with tact and professionalism
• Physical capability to perform housekeeping duties and inspect rooms regularly
• Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic
• Familiarity with housekeeping management systems and cleaning equipment is advantageous
• Health and safety awareness and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
• Full NZ Driver's License, held for two years or more
• Ability to gain a P Endorsement
• Willingness to drive our company shuttle to and from the airport with guests
