Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily housekeeping operations to ensure guest rooms, public areas and other designated areas are maintained in accordance with the hotel's cleanliness, hygiene and operational standards. The position oversees housekeeping staff, monitors work quality and ensures that all assigned duties are completed efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities, including room cleaning, public area cleaning and other assigned duties.
• Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, presentation and maintenance standards are consistently maintained.
• Assign duties and work schedules to housekeeping staff according to operational requirements.
• Monitor staff performance and ensure all housekeeping procedures and service standards are followed.
• Train and guide housekeeping team members on cleaning procedures, hygiene practices and proper use of equipment and cleaning materials.
• Coordinate with the Front Office Department regarding room status, guest requests and room readiness.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged items and safety hazards to the Engineering Department for follow up.
• Monitor the use and storage of cleaning supplies, equipment, linen and other housekeeping materials.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, workplace safety requirements and hygiene standards.
• Handle guest requests and housekeeping related complaints promptly and professionally.
• Maintain accurate housekeeping records, inspection reports and staff attendance where required.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management, Housekeeping or a related field is an advantage.
• Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably with supervisory experience.
• Good leadership, communication and team management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain cleanliness and quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily operational priorities.
• Willingness to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
• Responsible, organised and committed to maintaining professional hotel standards.

Pay: RM1,900.00 - RM2,200.00 per month
