Housekeeping Unit Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Housekeeping Unit Manager to join the team at St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and environmental safety across our medical facilities. As a key member of our management team, you will oversee housekeeping operations, lead a team of dedicated staff, and ensure that our hospital environment meets rigorous healthcare standards. This role is essential to supporting patient care, staff wellbeing and the overall operational excellence of our medical center.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily housekeeping operations across assigned units, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Supervise, train, mentor and evaluate housekeeping staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
• Develop and implement housekeeping schedules, work assignments and standard operating procedures to ensure efficient service delivery
• Monitor compliance with healthcare facility standards, infection control protocols and safety regulations
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment and cleaning supplies to identify maintenance needs and quality issues
• Manage inventory and procurement of cleaning supplies, equipment and materials whilst maintaining budget controls
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address concerns raised by clinical and administrative staff
• Liaise with infection prevention and control teams to implement and maintain biosafety and contamination prevention measures
• Document and report on housekeeping activities, incidents and performance metrics
• Participate in staff training initiatives and promote continuous improvement within the housekeeping department

What we're looking for

• A minimum of 2 years experience in housekeeping management, preferably within a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Preferably a graduate of any four year course.
• Responsible in managing and supervising the services rendered by Housekeeping Associates and in
• close coordination with the supervisor of the service provider.
• Develops highly competent housekeeping staff by providing associates with sufficient training and
• education. Promotes growth and development by mentoring, coaching and counseling.
• Administers efficient utilization of resources/budget within the budget allocation. Initiates cost
• efficient management and/or cost savings program.
• Provides assistance to the housekeepers in the performance of their duties to facilitate fast turnover
• of rooms.
• Arranges work/duty schedule, distribution of tasks, assignment based on operational
• needs/requirements.
