Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cleaning of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
• Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens or uniforms in accordance with healthcare or facility standards.
• Follow strict safety protocols related to chemical handling, manual handling, heavy lifting, and safe lifting practices to prevent injuries.
• Maintain proper sanitation by disinfecting surfaces in compliance with healthcare infection prevention and control guidelines.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, steam cleaners, and other janitorial tools efficiently and safely.
• Adhere to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Support environmental services initiatives by ensuring all areas meet cleanliness standards that promote health and safety for staff and visitors.

Requirements

• Proven experience in janitorial work, healthcare facilities housekeeping, or commercial cleaning is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to chemical handling, manual handling, heavy lifting, and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods, bending, lifting heavy objects safely, and performing repetitive motions.
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and proper handling techniques to ensure safety and effectiveness.
• Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with staff, patients, visitors or clients.
• Experience with floor care techniques such as stripping, sealing, waxing or buffing is advantageous.
• Certification or training in healthcare infection prevention and control practices is a plus.
