Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
• Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms efficiently.
• Follow strict safety protocols for chemical handling and manual handling to prevent injuries and ensure environmental safety.
• Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces, waste disposal, and ensuring compliance with healthcare infection prevention and control guidelines.
• Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners with proper training on safe usage.
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks while adhering to safe lifting practices to avoid injury during the movement of furniture or large supplies.
• Support environmental services by ensuring all areas meet cleanliness standards, contributing to a hygienic environment for patients or clients.

Skills

• Knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations related to cleaning and safety practices.
• Proven experience in healthcare facilities housekeeping, custodial work, or commercial cleaning environments.
• Strong understanding of sanitation procedures, infection prevention protocols, and environmental services standards.
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely while following proper chemical handling procedures.
• Competence in using various cleaning equipment efficiently and safely.
• Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff, patients, visitors, or clients.
• Physical ability for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, prolonged standing, walking, and bending while maintaining safe lifting practices.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
