Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
• Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms efficiently.
• Follow strict safety protocols related to chemical handling and manual handling to prevent injuries and ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces according to healthcare infection prevention and control guidelines.
• Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, vacuums, steam cleaners, and carpet extractors with proper technique.
• Adhere to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations to promote a safe workplace environment.
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices when moving furniture or large supplies.
• Support environmental services by ensuring all areas meet cleanliness standards for health compliance and customer satisfaction.

Skills

• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and infection control procedures in healthcare or commercial settings.
• Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial roles within healthcare facilities or similar environments.
• Skilled in the use of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, steam cleaners, and chemical dispensers.
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely while maintaining proper sanitation levels.
• Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy or bulky items.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude toward staff, patients, guests, or visitors.
• Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention protocols and sanitation procedures.
