Job Overview

We are Golden Acres Boarding Homes Inc. consisting of 9 houses in Hancock and Washington Counties, Maine. We serve people of all backgrounds and all abilities, ensuring physical, mental and emotional health and well-being, while maintaining their sense of self and the world around them. We work closely with family, guardians, medical personnel, and other agencies to arrange logistics and transportation to programs, appointments and recreation.

To be successful in this position you must be able to manage AND motivate the staff you supervise while meeting essential paperwork and reporting deadlines.

You must have the empathy, patience, and professionalism it takes to work with people of greatly differing needs and personalities to model these necessities to your staff.

It is essential that you have the skills:

• Ability to meet essential deadlines.
• Great communication skills, verbally and written
• Ability to motivate, teach, and assist staff while also counseling them when they make mistakes, both small and large.
• Ability to handle a stressful, busy, healthcare environment with patience and professionalism.
• Follow through on communications with the Owner, staff, maintenance and all other employees of Golden Acres. Also, with all providers, caseworkers, family members and any other person assigned by the Owner. (this could be replying or relaying messages)
• Accurate and consistant organization of ALL paperwork.
• NON-NEGOTIABLE Absolutely must be able to learn and reinforce the organization, maintenance, and timely refilling of the Medication Cart and oversee the proper protocol for passing medications.

It cannot be said too strongly - You must have the heart for this job. It can be stressful. It can be demanding. But it is so worth it in the end.
