Position Summary

The Housekeeping/Laundry Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors while ensuring that linens, clothing, and other laundry items are properly cleaned and handled.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces as needed.
• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and resident clothing.
• Operate laundry equipment safely and follow proper washing procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in housekeeping and laundry areas.
• Follow infection control, sanitation, and safety guidelines.
• Handle cleaning supplies and chemicals according to facility procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or safety hazards.
• Respect resident privacy, dignity, and personal belongings.
• Assist the housekeeping and laundry team with daily tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred.
• Ability to follow cleaning procedures and infection control guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable, punctual, and hardworking.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required for the position.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
