What they need

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional looking for more than just a job, but a career path with an award-winning professional services firm that prides itself on its culture, career development and work /life balance.

As the Payroll & HR Administrator, you'll be the safe pair of hands behind the firms payroll and HR administration, keeping their people paid accurately and on time and all employment documentation and HR systems in order.

This is a part time role of three days a week or more, well suited to a payroll or HR administration professional looking for flexibility, or someone finishing a business, commerce or HR degree who wants hands on experience inside a professional services firm.

Responsibilities of the role will include

  • Running monthly payroll and managing compliance obligations, including Payroll Tax, PAYG, Superannuation and STP reporting
  • Supporting the preparation of employment contracts and related documentation
  • Managing the offboarding process for exiting staff
  • Administering the HRIS (Employment Hero), including personnel records and templates
  • Providing light administrative support across recruitment, onboarding and general P&C enquiries
  • Supporting ad hoc P&C projects, such as RU OK Day and surveys

About you

  • You have 2 to 3 years' experience in a similar role. Previous payroll experience is preferred but not essential, and reasonable proficiency in Xero and XPM (or equivalent payroll and practice management software) will help you hit the ground running.
  • You understand Australian HR and payroll legislation, including Fair Work, superannuation guarantee, payroll tax and WHS, and you're comfortable working within an HRIS, with Employment Hero experience highly regarded. You're completing, or have completed, a degree in accounting, business, HR or a related field.
  • You bring excellent organisational and time management skills, strong accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. You work independently, think critically and are comfortable managing sensitive and confidential information.

What the firm offers

  • A welcoming, inclusive environment driven by strong diversity, wellbeing and corporate responsibility priorities
  • Ongoing training and development support designed to build both technical and soft skills
  • Birthday leave, Summertime Fridays and 12 weeks of paid parental leave

Other offers great for you!
