What they need
Help Shape the Future of Hospice Wairarapa
Hospice Wairarapa is seeking an experienced HR professional to support a range of people and organisational development initiatives over the next 3-6 months.
As part of our commitment to building a skilled and supported workforce, we are investing in the review of our HR systems, processes and documentation, while also implementing ELMO HR software. This role will work closely with the Chief Executive, leadership team and partner hospices to ensure our people practices are fit for purpose, compliant and support a positive workplace culture. Hospice Wairarapa has identified improving recruitment, induction and workforce systems as a key organisational priority.
This is a flexible contract role that can largely be undertaken remotely, although regular attendance in the Masterton office will be required to work alongside staff.
The work will include reviewing employment agreements, refreshing HR policies and procedures, updating volunteer agreements and processes, supporting recruitment activities where required, and leading the implementation of ELMO. Along the way, you'll provide practical HR advice and help strengthen the foundations that support our people and culture.
About You
You are an experienced HR practitioner who combines strong technical HR expertise with excellent relationship management skills. You enjoy working independently, can navigate complexity, and have a track record of delivering practical outcomes.
Ideally, you will bring:
· Extensive HR advisory or management experience
· Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment law and HR best practice
· Experience reviewing and drafting employment agreements and policies
· A background in leading change or system implementation projects
· Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
· A pragmatic, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
Experience within health, aged care, not-for-profit or community organisations would be an advantage but not essential.
Contract Details
This is an independent contractor position for approximately 240 hours. The timeframe and weekly commitment can be negotiated to suit the successful applicant and the organisation's needs. A competitive hourly rate will be agreed based on experience.
If you're looking for a meaningful project where your expertise can make a lasting difference to the people who deliver and support hospice care, we'd love to hear from you.
