What they need
About us
Precinct is the largest owner, developer, and manager of premium commercial real estate in Auckland and Wellington. As an NZX-listed company, thousands of Kiwis invest in our business, which also includes leading coworking provider, Precinct Flex, Commercial Bay Retail Centre, third party capital partnerships, and a growing residential development pipeline.
Our core business is owning, developing and managing commercial office buildings, however we have diversified significantly in recent years to include assets that contribute to mixed-use precincts like retail and hospitality. Precinct has recently advanced our living strategy through an increased ownership of multi-unit residential developments, as well as purpose-built student accommodation.
Our precincts are designed with people-centric outcomes in mind, to create multi-use hubs that empower our communities to lead more connected, fulfilled, and meaningful lives.
About the role
As the HR Analyst, you'll help turn people data into clear, useful insights that support better decisions across Precinct. You'll work closely with People & Culture, Finance and leaders across the business to strengthen reporting, maintain accurate systems and support key people processes. Reporting to the General Manager, People and Culture, you'll work across people reporting, systems, payroll coordination and core People & Culture processes.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain reliable people data and analyse workforce trends, including headcount, turnover, remuneration, leave and other key measures
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reports, dashboards and analysis, highlighting trends, risks and areas for further investigation
- Support the administration and ongoing improvement of People & Culture systems, including employee records, data checks, system testing and day-to-day issue resolution
- Coordinate accurate and timely payroll inputs, complete checks and reconciliations, respond to routine queries and escalate exceptions
- Support remuneration reviews, benchmarking and workforce planning through accurate data preparation, modelling and quality assurance
- Provide data and coordination support across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employment changes, performance and remuneration processes, and offboarding
- Build effective working relationships across People & Culture, Finance and the wider business, explaining information clearly and handling sensitive data with care
- Identify practical opportunities to simplify reporting, strengthen controls and automate repeatable tasks
- Contribute to system enhancements and wider People & Culture projects with a curious, improvement-focused approach
About you
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with confidence working in Excel and an interest in developing reporting or dashboard capability
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail, together with sound judgement when handling confidential information
- Curiosity and problem-solving ability, with a willingness to investigate data, ask good questions and learn new systems
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain information simply and work effectively with a range of stakeholders
- A collaborative, organised approach and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience with HR systems, payroll, Power BI or data analysis would be useful but is not essential
- A relevant tertiary qualification, or early experience in HR, business, finance, analytics or a related field, would be an advantage
Benefits
- Health and wellbeing support, including fully subsidised Southern Cross medical insurance, life and income protection cover, wellness programmes and fitness classes
- Support for you and your whānau, including paid parental leave and EAP services
- Learning and development opportunities, including study support, training, conferences and cultural capability programmes
- A connected culture, with social events, recognition programmes and team celebrations
- Everyday perks, including fresh fruit, snacks, great coffee and modern facilities
