HR & Payroll Manager

About the role

An experienced HR professional with strong payroll expertise is needed to build and lead the people function for ACIM Thailand, ensuring the managed gym portfolio can recruit, retain, develop, and performance-manage high-quality teams at pace. This role combines strong local HR compliance with hands-on payroll ownership and a practical, commercially minded approach to people operations. You will be responsible for accurate, timely, and fully compliant payroll processing across all clubs, alongside the full HR lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding, as ACIM continues to expand across Thailand.

Key responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing for all ACIM Thailand employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, overtime, bonuses, and statutory deductions across all club locations
• Ensuring payroll practices comply with Thai labour law, tax regulations, social security contributions, and provident fund requirements, and maintaining accurate payroll records for audit purposes
• Managing employee benefits administration, compensation benchmarking, and annual salary review processes in partnership with Finance
• Building end-to-end HR framework for ACIM Thailand, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding
• Developing workforce plans for existing clubs and new-club openings, including payroll budgeting and headcount forecasting
• Building efficient recruitment pipelines for Club Managers, membership/sales teams, coaches, and support roles
• Maintaining employment contracts, policies, employee records, and payroll and HR documentation in a well-organized, audit-ready system
• Managing probation reviews, performance improvement plans, disciplinary processes, and employee relations matters
• Partnering with managers to improve team performance, retention, engagement, and leadership capability
• Developing onboarding, training, and management-development programs suitable for a growing gym portfolio

About you

• Fluent Thai and strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
• 5+ years of HR experience with dedicated payroll officer or payroll management experience, preferably in fitness, hospitality, retail, or another multi-site consumer business
• Hands-on experience managing end-to-end payroll cycles, including statutory filings, tax withholding, social security, and provident fund administration in Thailand
• Strong working knowledge of Thai labour law, employment requirements, and payroll-related tax and social security regulations
• Experience with high-volume frontline recruitment and employee relations
• Practical experience building HR and payroll processes in a growing, multi-site organisation
• Familiarity with payroll software and HRIS systems, with strong Excel or data-handling skills for payroll reconciliation and reporting
• Strong coaching, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
