What they need
Tan Wei is one of Singapore's established motorcycle dealerships and an authorised Yamaha dealer. Across our showroom, workshop, credit and corporate teams, we sell, service and finance motorcycles for riders throughout Singapore.
We're looking for our first dedicated HR person. This is a standalone generalist role reporting directly to the CEO, covering Tan Wei Motorcycles, Tan Wei Auto and Tan Wei Credit. You'll own the full HR function across all three entities.
What you'll do
- Hiring — work with department heads on manpower needs, run the full recruitment cycle for showroom, sales, credit, accounts, operations and management roles.
- Work passes — manage Work Passes applications, renewals and appeals; track quota, levy, COMPASS and Fair Consideration Framework requirements.
- Onboarding and offboarding — contracts, orientation, system access, exit interviews and clearance.
- Policies and compliance — build the employee handbook, standardise policies across entities, and keep our practices aligned with MOM requirements and PDPA.
- Payroll and statutory — consolidate attendance, leave, overtime and commissions; coordinate monthly payroll; handle CPF, government-paid leave claims and NS make-up pay.
- Performance — run probation tracking, appraisals and confirmation, promotion and salary-adjustment processes.
- Employee relations — be the first point of contact for staff concerns, and support management on disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Union matters — coordinate with SISEU/NTUC and support management on the Collective Agreement.
- Training — identify needs across departments and tap on SkillsFuture, WSQ, UTAP and PSG support.
- Reporting — a monthly HR overview for management covering headcount, turnover, pass expiries, probation reviews and upcoming risks.
What we're looking for
- Diploma or degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field
- 4–7 years of generalist HR experience in Singapore
- Solid grounding in MOM requirements, CPF and Singapore employment practices
- Hands-on experience with work pass applications and foreign manpower administration
- Working knowledge of PDPA
- Comfortable with an HRIS/payroll system (Talenox, Info-Tech, JustLogin, QuickHR or similar) and confident in Excel
- Able to handle sensitive employee matters and detailed admin work equally well
- Firm, fair and approachable
A plus: experience in retail, automotive, financing or SME settings, or in a unionised environment.
