HR & People Operations Manager

Salary: ₦350,000 – ₦500,000 monthly (based on experience and capability)

Role Summary:

The HR & People Operations Manager is responsible for building and running structured HR and workforce processes that support the institutionalisation and scale-up of Butchers Corner's operations. The role owns recruitment, manpower oversight, payroll coordination, staff compliance, and performance management across warehouse, logistics, sales, procurement, retail, and administrative teams.

This is an operational and execution-focused role, not an administrative back-office function: the successful candidate will actively improve workforce discipline, manpower visibility, accountability, and organisational structure as the business scales.

What you'll do:

● Manage recruitment for operational, warehouse, logistics, procurement, sales, retail, and administrative roles.

● Coordinate onboarding and staff documentation for new hires.

● Assist management with workforce planning as operations scale.

● Track headcount, payroll exposure, staff turnover, attendance, and recruitment status.

● Coordinate monthly payroll schedules with Finance.

● Maintain employee records, attendance, leave tracking, and staff files.

● Develop HR policies and operational procedures.

● Ensure compliance with labour regulations and workplace documentation requirements.

● Support disciplinary procedures, conflict resolution, and staff performance monitoring.

● Support implementation of KPIs and staff accountability structures.

● Assist management in building operational discipline and a performance-driven culture.

● Coordinate training and operational process alignment across departments.

Qualification & Experience

● Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification; HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, or equivalent) an advantage.

● 4–7 years' experience in HR / People Operations.

● Experience within FMCG, logistics, distribution, retail, hospitality, or other operational businesses preferred.

● Good understanding of payroll coordination and workforce management.

● Demonstrated experience managing recruitment across multiple operational functions.

● Experience developing HR policies and supporting labour-compliance and documentation requirements.
