HR Generalist

We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join a busy organisation providing HR support for a 6 month period.

This is a broad and varied role suited to someone who enjoys being hands-on, working autonomously and providing practical, commercially focused HR support across the organisation.

Working closely with managers and leaders, you will provide advice and support across the full range of people and employment matters.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing practical HR and employment relations advice to managers and leaders
• Supporting and, where appropriate, leading workplace investigations and employee relations matters
• Developing, reviewing and implementing HR policies and processes
• Coaching managers through people-related issues and processes
• Supporting performance management and development processes
• Coordinating annual performance and remuneration review activities
• Providing guidance on employment agreements, policies and general employment matters
• Supporting recruitment and onboarding of new employees

About you

We are looking for a practical, solutions-focused individual. Someone who can hit the ground running and operate with a good degree of autonomy. You will bring:

• Solid experience as an HR Generalist, HR Advisor, HR Manager or similar
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment relations and HR practices
• Proven experience managing a broad range of employee and workplace matters
• Confidence advising and coaching managers at all levels
• Experience with workplace investigations and performance management
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A practical, solutions-focused approach rather than being overly process-driven
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise

Ideally we are looking for someone who can commit to full-time hours, however four days per week would be considered for the right person.

This position is based in Te Awamutu, with flexibility to work from home for up to two days per week.
