HR Generalist

About the role

Southern Arms Corporation is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our growing team in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental. As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for managing a diverse range of human resources functions across the organisation, serving as a key strategic partner to both employees and management. This role is essential to our success, as you will be instrumental in building and maintaining a positive workplace environment whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant employment legislation and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new employees across various departments within the organisation
• Administering and managing employee benefits programmes, payroll coordination, and compensation planning
• Developing and implementing company policies, employee handbooks, and HR procedures that align with best practices and legal requirements
• Managing employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary proceedings, and conflict resolution
• Providing guidance to managers and supervisors on HR-related issues, including staffing decisions and workplace conduct
• Delivering training and development programmes to support employee growth and succession planning
• Maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation whilst ensuring data confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations
• Supporting organisational development initiatives, including cultural engagement, team-building activities, and employee wellness programmes
• Ensuring compliance with labour laws, employment regulations, and company policies across all HR functions
• Assisting with workforce planning and identifying staffing requirements to support business objectives

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience as an HR Generalist, HR Officer, or in a similar human resources role
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, labour regulations, and HR best practices relevant to the Philippines
• Proficiency in HR management systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organisational levels
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
• Knowledge of recruitment strategies, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, and training and development
• Experience with payroll management and benefits administration is highly desirable
• HR certifications such as CHRP or equivalent qualifications would be advantageous
