About KYZO

KYZO is a Building Materials platform for architects, interior designers, and contractors by combining technology, quality-assured products, and reliable delivery. We are a fast-growing startup focused on simplifying procurement and creating an exceptional experience for construction professionals.

We are looking for a hands-on HR Manager & Administrator who can build strong people processes, hire great talent, foster a high-performance culture, and ensure compliance and smooth day-to-day office administration.

Role Overview

This is an execution-oriented role requiring someone who can independently manage recruitment, employee lifecycle management, HR policies, payroll coordination, statutory compliance, employee engagement, and office administration.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organised, people-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Own end-to-end recruitment across sales, operations, technology, finance, and corporate functions.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and founders to understand manpower requirements and hiring priorities.
  • Manage job postings, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer negotiations, and onboarding.
  • Ensure positions are closed within agreed timelines without compromising on candidate quality.

2. Employee Lifecycle & HR Operations

  • Manage employee onboarding, documentation, induction, probation reviews, confirmation, transfers, and exits.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, attendance, leave balances, and HR databases.
  • Coordinate monthly payroll processing, salary revisions, reimbursements, and full-and-final settlements.
  • Establish and maintain HR policies, SOPs, employee handbooks, and standard documentation.
  • Ensure timely resolution of employee queries and HR-related issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all employee-related matters.

3. Performance Management & Employee Engagement

  • Implement and manage performance appraisal, goal-setting, probation review, and feedback processes.
  • Support managers in building accountability, clear expectations, and a performance-oriented culture.
  • Organise employee engagement activities, team events, celebrations, and recognition initiatives.
  • Conduct employee feedback sessions and exit interviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Help build a workplace culture that values ownership, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

4. Statutory Compliance & HR Governance

  • Ensure applicable labour law and employment compliance, including PF, ESI, professional tax, gratuity, bonus, and other statutory requirements, as applicable.
  • Coordinate statutory filings, registers, audits, and inspections with payroll vendors, consultants, and relevant authorities.
  • Manage employment contracts, appointment letters, confidentiality agreements, and other employee documentation.
  • Support POSH compliance, including the Internal Committee and applicable training and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain compliance calendars and ensure that statutory obligations are completed within deadlines.

5. Office Administration & Facilities Management

  • Manage day-to-day office administration, facilities, housekeeping, security, and maintenance.
  • Ensure the office is clean, organised, functional, and adequately equipped.
  • Handle procurement, quotations, negotiations, and expense control for administrative requirements.
  • Coordinate office infrastructure, access cards, seating arrangements, repairs, and other facility-related needs.
  • Manage travel, accommodation, meetings, and other administrative arrangements when required.
  • Maintain administrative budgets, invoices, vendor records, and expense reports.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA/PGDM in HR is an advantage.
  • 2–5 years of experience in HR generalist, HR operations, and administration roles.
  • Prior experience in a startup or other fast-growing operating environment is preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience in recruitment, payroll coordination, employee lifecycle management, and statutory compliance.
  • Good working knowledge of applicable Indian labour laws and HR documentation.
  • Experience managing office administration, vendors, facilities, and administrative budgets.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and HRMS, attendance, and payroll tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Key Competencies

  • Ownership: Takes complete responsibility for outcomes and follows through without constant supervision.
  • Execution: Gets things done on time, with attention to detail.
  • People orientation: Builds trust while maintaining fairness and professional boundaries.
  • Organisation: Manages multiple priorities systematically.
  • Integrity: Handles confidential information responsibly.
  • Startup mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity, changing priorities, and building processes from scratch.
  • Cost consciousness: Manages administrative expenses efficiently without compromising essential standards.

Why Join KYZO?

  • Opportunity to build HR and administration processes in a growing startup.
  • Direct interaction with founders and leadership.
  • Ownership of a broad, high-impact function.
  • Opportunity to shape the company's culture, hiring standards, and employee experience.
  • A fast-paced environment that values initiative, accountability, and execution.

If you enjoy building systems, hiring great people, solving operational problems, and creating a productive workplace, we would love to hear from you.
