About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our team on a full-time basis in Penang Island, Penang. As HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing human resources strategies that support our organisational growth and foster a positive workplace culture. This position is instrumental in ensuring that our people management practices align with our business objectives and that we attract, retain, and develop top talent across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive HR strategies and policies aligned with company objectives and legal compliance requirements
• Oversee recruitment and selection processes, including job advertising, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees
• Manage employee relations, addressing workplace concerns, grievances, and disciplinary matters fairly and professionally
• Administer compensation and benefits programmes, including payroll coordination, leave management, and benefits administration
• Conduct performance management activities, including appraisals, goal setting, and performance improvement plans
• Design and deliver training and development programmes to enhance employee skills and career progression
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian employment legislation, labour laws, and industry regulations
• Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports on HR metrics, staffing levels, and workforce analytics
• Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement
• Liaise with external stakeholders including government agencies, insurance providers, and recruitment consultants

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional HR management experience, preferably within the construction or related industries
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment law, labour regulations, and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated expertise in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training and development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organisational levels
• Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions in challenging situations
• Professional HR certification is highly desirable
• Experience working in a construction or project-based environment is preferred
