HR OFFICER/ASSISTANT

About the role

This role involves handling day-to-day human resource and administration activities within a hotel environment, including staff documentation, payroll processing, hostel management, and employee engagement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day human resource and administration chores such as name tags, ID cards, punch cards, and lockers
• Monitor and update monthly staff medical costs
• Assist with human resource reimbursement matters and staff claimable items
• Maintain proper filing and human resource documents efficiently
• Manage hostel activities including occupancy lists, assets lists, and patrol timetables
• Calculate salary and payroll matters for rank and file staff
• Conduct orientation training for newly joined staff
• Prepare monthly reports on new hires and resigned staff
• Manage employee engagement initiatives, staff welfare, sports and recreation activities
• Handle foreign workers issues, permit renewals, visa applications, and repatriation

About you

• Ability to advertise, screen, interview, test and select employees to fill vacant positions
• Experience with staff hostel and canteen maintenance and cleanliness standards
• Knowledge of government bodies liaison for compensation, benefits, and foreign worker matters
• Proficiency in preparing and handling applicant applications and arranging interviews
• Capability to monitor employee relations and motivation programs
• Experience with outsourced worker attendance and reimbursement claims management
