HR Operations Manager

Are you a hands-on HR practitioner who likes being close to the action?

Carter Holt Harvey Woodproducts is looking for an HR Operations Manager based at our Onehunga head office. In this role you'll be the go-to HR person for our timber, plywood and LVL sites and our support office.

This is a practical, varied role. You'll run the core HR processes, back our leaders with sound advice, and support employment and industrial relations across the business.

The role:

• Lead HR processes end to end: recruitment support, pre-employment checks, offers and IEAs, onboarding and performance management
• Give clear, practical advice to site and functional managers on day-to-day people issues
• Coach frontline leaders on HR processes and people leadership
• Support IR and ER work, including collective agreement negotiations and working with unions
• Run the performance review and annual salary review cycles
• Help deliver training and HR projects across the group

About you:
You'll have 3–5 years' solid HR experience and be comfortable working in a busy, operational environment.

• A tertiary qualification (HR, employment relations, management or business preferred)
• Good working knowledge of NZ employment law
• Able to build trust and influence at all levels, from the shop floor to senior leaders
• Organised, with project management experience
• Experience in working within a multi-site manufacturing or an industrial setting
• Change management, job evaluation (Hays) or psychometric assessment experience is a bonus
• Experience with  HR systems (e.g. CHRIS, Datacom)
