What they need

HR Supervisor / HR Specialist

Position Summary

The HR Supervisor / HR Specialist will serve as the primary on-site Human Resources representative for a growing manufacturing operation. This position will be heavily focused on recruiting, hiring, onboarding, employee relations, and day-to-day HR support for production employees and management.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and supporting a workforce that is expected to grow significantly. This individual will work closely with corporate HR leadership, which will provide support and oversight for payroll, benefits, policies, and other HR functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruiting & Hiring

  • Manage local recruiting efforts for production, skilled trades, technical, administrative, and other positions.
  • Post open positions and actively source qualified candidates.
  • Review applications and resumes and conduct initial candidate screenings.
  • Coordinate and conduct interviews with hiring managers.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks and other required screenings.
  • Develop relationships with local workforce organizations, schools, staffing agencies, and other recruiting resources.
  • Participate in and coordinate job fairs, hiring events, and other recruiting activities.
  • Support high-volume hiring as the facility grows.

Onboarding & Employee Records

  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees.
  • Conduct or assist with new-hire orientation.
  • Ensure required employment documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Assist new employees with HR-related questions and help them successfully transition into the organization.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Coordinate employee information and changes with corporate HR.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a primary HR point of contact for employees and supervisors.
  • Respond to employee questions, concerns, and workplace issues.
  • Assist supervisors with employee relations matters, attendance, performance, and corrective action.
  • Conduct or assist with workplace investigations.
  • Document employee relations matters appropriately.
  • Promote consistent application of Company policies and procedures.
  • Help identify and address employee concerns that may affect morale, retention, attendance, or workplace culture.

General HR Support

  • Provide day-to-day HR support to facility management and employees.
  • Assist with implementation and communication of Company HR policies and procedures.
  • Support attendance management, performance management, corrective action, and terminations.
  • Coordinate HR matters with corporate HR leadership.
  • Assist employees with basic payroll and benefits questions and coordinate more complex matters with the appropriate corporate HR team member.
  • Support employee engagement and retention initiatives.

  • Prepare HR reports and maintain appropriate HR metrics as requested.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with applicable federal and state employment requirements.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience preferred, particularly in recruiting, employee relations, or general HR.
  • Previous experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or similar hourly workforce strongly preferred.
  • Experience with high-volume recruiting and onboarding is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Comfortable working independently while receiving guidance and support from corporate HR leadership.

Language Skills

  • Fluent English is required.
  • Spanish and/or Chinese language skills are highly desirable but not required.

Preferred Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on HR professional who enjoys building an operation from the ground up. This position is well suited for someone who can recruit aggressively, build relationships with employees and supervisors, solve day-to-day HR problems, and help establish a positive workplace culture as the organization grows.

The successful candidate should be comfortable spending significant time interacting directly with employees and production leadership rather than working exclusively from an office.

Work Environment

This position supports a manufacturing operation and will regularly interact with employees in both office and production environments. The position may occasionally require flexibility in work hours to support recruiting activities, employee issues, shift operations, or other business needs.

This is an on-site position.
