What they need

HR Systems Analyst (HRIS) – Permanent

Reading | Hybrid, 1 day a week in the office | £38,000–£42,000

Are you the person your HR team calls when the system won’t do what they need? This is a permanent HRIS role in a large, well-established organisation. It has thousands of employees across a group of businesses in the UK and Europe.

You’ll join a small, friendly HR and payroll systems team. Your job is to keep the HR platform accurate, secure and easy for everyone to use. It’s hands-on and varied. One day you’ll be setting up the structure for a newly acquired business, and the next you’ll be fixing a broken approval workflow or testing a new release.

What you’ll be doing

  • Keeping the organisation’s structure, jobs and positions up to date in the HR system, and processing changes as teams are reorganised, merged or brought in
  • Managing who has access to what: setting up and removing users, maintaining security roles and helping with access reviews and audits
  • Building and adjusting HR workflows, forms, approvals and employee/manager self-service
  • Running bulk data uploads and mass updates, including bringing new companies and their employees onto the system
  • Being the go-to person for system queries: working through tickets, finding the root cause of data problems and escalating to the vendor when needed
  • Testing changes and upgrades: writing and running test scripts and checking that everything works once it goes live
  • Helping the business work out what it needs from a change, and suggesting smarter, more automated ways of working
  • Keeping data clean and GDPR-compliant, and producing standard reports when asked

What you’ll bring

  • Hands-on experience with an HR, payroll or workforce management system. Dayforce would be a real bonus, but Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle, iTrent, ADP or similar all count
  • Experience maintaining employee, organisational or user access data
  • A good understanding of reporting lines, organisational structures and role-based security
  • Real attention to detail, and the satisfaction of getting data right
  • Confident Excel skills
  • A practical, problem-solving approach, whether you’re working on your own or with others

The package

  • £38,000–£42,000
  • Permanent, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week
  • Hybrid working, in the Reading office one day a week (occasionally more if needed)
