HSE Advisor

Birdon Pty Ltd is proudly an Australian owned global company, delivering end to end solutions across multinational defense, government, maritime energy, and resource sectors.

We are currently seeking an HSE Advisor on a 6 month maximum term contract to support our project teams at Dampier Slipway, Western Australia.

As the HSE Advisor you will be responsible for ensuring all employees operate in compliance with Birdon’s safety systems, which are aligned with relevant WHS legislative frameworks.

Key Responsibilities but not limited:

• Promote the Birdon “Make it Safe” culture.
• Control, provide training, and maintain the Permit to Work system.
• Collect, compile, and update statistical safety data.
• Maintain safety related registers and equipment workers sign out (gas monitors, radios etc.).
• Participate in Risk Assessments, SWMS/ JSEA development and other HIRAC activities.
• Comply with regulatory requirements.
• Report incidents, or record incident reports from others.
• Work closely with the National HSEQ Manager & Supervisors to manage safety on Birdon sites.
• Provide First Aid as required and maintain first aid kits.
• Maintain exclusion zone and spill kits.
• Member of the Site Emergency Response Team & facilitate ERT meetings.
• Assist workers with implementing safety controls and provide safety advice.
• Administration of safety training and toolboxes.
• Conduct site safety audits and inspections.
• Research safety topics.

Essential

• Certificate IV in WHS (min)
• A minimum of two (2) years' experience working in a WHS Officer role
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate
• Construction Induction (White Card)
• Experience with MS Office suite and Learning Management Systems
• Trade background advantageous
• Any HRW licence

Desirable

• Experience in a marine environment
• Confined space sentry/ Work at Heights
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
