What they need

How You Keep The Engine Running With Us As an HSE Engineer, you play a key role in developing, maintaining and continuously improving our Health, Safety and Environmental standards at Fokker Services Group.

You work in a complex operational aviation environment where aircraft and component maintenance activities are performed alongside a broad range of technical, logistical and specialist support processes. Safety, sustainability and compliance are therefore essential to everything we do.

As our HSE specialist and safety ambassador, you act as the bridge between management and the operational work floor. You advise the organization on HSE-related matters, identify risks and translate legislation, standards and company requirements into practical solutions.

An important part of your role is the further development and assurance of our management systems in accordance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001, covering environmental management, occupational health & safety and energy management.

You are visible within the organization and comfortable challenging existing ways of working when necessary. By engaging colleagues and management in HSE topics, you help us continuously strengthen our safety culture and operational performance.

As HSE Engineer, You Will

  • Advise management and operational teams on Health, Safety and Environmental matters
  • Ensure our operations comply with applicable HSE legislation, regulations and internal requirements
  • Maintain and continuously improve our management systems for ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001
  • Perform and support RI&E (Risk Inventory & Evaluation) and TRA (Task Risk Analysis) activities
  • Identify and prioritize operational risks and determine appropriate mitigation measures together with the organization
  • Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes and recommend preventive and corrective actions
  • Support and coordinate internal and external audits, inspections and permit compliance activities
  • Perform safety walks together with employees and managers
  • Support the safe management of hazardous substances
  • Monitor, analyze and report HSE performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Promote safety awareness and actively contribute to a strong safety culture throughout the organization
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve HSE performance

How You Are Valuable To Us You are a hands-on HSE professional who understands that effective safety management requires more than procedures and reports. You enjoy being visible on the work floor, talking to colleagues and translating HSE requirements into practical improvements.

You are analytical and independent, but also know how to bring people together and create support for change.

We Are Looking For Someone With

  • Bachelor's degree (HBO) or equivalent working and thinking level
  • At least 2 years of relevant HSE experience
  • MVK (Middle-Level Safety Expert) qualification
  • HVK (Higher-Level Safety Expert) or Occupational Hygiene qualification is considered an advantage
  • Experience with or knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001
  • Knowledge of HSE legislation and current developments
  • Experience working with management systems
  • Experience within a technical, industrial, maintenance or operational environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
  • Experience preparing reports and communicating HSE performance
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proactive, decisive, resilient and hands-on approach
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English at B2 level or higher
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with Visio is an advantage

Experience within aviation, aircraft maintenance or another highly regulated technical environment is considered a strong advantage.

Where you will be working A company with over a hundred years of experience, innovation, knowledge and expertise coursing through our veins. Our cross-departmental approach and tailor-made solutions are making their mark on the future of aerospace innovation. With our welcoming and friendly culture, we are more than just colleagues. Together with our keen and initiative-taking colleagues, we work on the most innovative and advanced solutions aiming at creating a more sustainable and optimal aerospace sector. We continue to push the boundaries of possibility. And that's how we make sure we keep aircraft where they belong: in the air!

The Team You will be based at our Woensdrecht, where aircraft maintenance, component maintenance and various technical and logistical activities come together.

This makes HSE at Fokker Services Group both challenging and highly diverse. One moment you may be discussing an operational safety risk on the shop floor, while the next you are supporting an audit, investigating an incident or working on improvements to one of our ISO management systems.

You will interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization, from technicians and operational teams to management and external stakeholders.

We Also Offer You

  • A competitive salary matching your knowledge and experience
  • Flexible hours
  • When working fulltime (40 hours), you have 27-29 holiday days and 13 ADV leave days per year
