HSE Engineer

• Implement and monitor Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and site safety plans in compliance with UAE regulations and project requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Ensure compliance with risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Method Statements.
• Monitor safety during roadworks, excavation, trenching, utility installation, asphalt works, and other infrastructure activities.
• Ensure proper implementation of permit-to-work systems, traffic management plans, and confined-space safety procedures.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training for employees, subcontractors, and site personnel.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, prepare reports, and recommend preventive measures.
• Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of construction equipment and machinery.
• Monitor environmental compliance, including dust control, noise reduction, waste management, and spill prevention.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and client HSE representatives to resolve safety issues.
• Maintain HSE documentation, inspection checklists, incident registers, and safety performance reports.
• Monitor emergency preparedness, firefighting equipment, first-aid facilities, and evacuation procedures.
• Stop unsafe work where there is an immediate risk to personnel, the public, or property.
• Follow up on non-conformities and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• NEBOSH IGC or an equivalent recognized HSE qualification.
• Relevant experience in infrastructure, road construction, utilities, or civil construction projects.
• Knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, risk assessments, and construction safety procedures.
• Strong communication, reporting, inspection, and incident-investigation skills.
