HSE Lead - Projects & Operations

As the Australian business continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health, Safety & Environment professional to take ownership of HSE leadership across projects, operations and field-based service activities.

The Opportunity

This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving a proactive, practical and collaborative safety culture across a diverse national operation. Working closely with project managers, operational leaders, service teams and frontline employees, you will provide hands-on HSE leadership, ensure compliance with legislative and corporate requirements, and support the ongoing development of systems, processes and performance across multiple sites and project environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with operational, project and service teams to provide practical HSE coaching and guidance.
• Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of integrated management systems.
• Lead site audits, inspections and compliance activities across multiple locations.
• Facilitate risk assessments, hazard identification and the implementation of effective controls.
• Coordinate incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are embedded across the business.
• Support injury management and return-to-work processes.
• Deliver engaging HSE training, toolbox talks and awareness programs.
• Promote a positive safety culture and ensure alignment with broader regional and global HSE standards.
• Monitor legislative changes and support compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs.

Background

To be successfull in this opportunity, you will have the following:

• Proven HSE leadership experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial services, project environments or similarly complex operational settings.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian HSE legislation, regulations and standards.
• Experience working with ISO-based management systems, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
• A practical, visible leadership style with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
• Strong incident investigation, risk management and audit capability.
• Flexibility to travel nationally as required.
