G2 are currently searching for an HSE Manager to join a leading EPC contractor on a major petrochemical construction project based in Antwerp, Belgium, on a freelance basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all HSE activities across the construction site
• Ensure compliance with local legislation, client requirements, and project HSE standards
• Promote a positive safety culture and drive behavioural safety initiatives
• Advise project management, construction teams, supervisors, and subcontractors on HSE matters
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to HSE procedures
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Drive continuous improvement across all health, safety, and environmental processes

Requirements

• Proven HSE/HSSE/HSEQ/QHSE management experience
• HSE qualification such as PA1, PA2, MVK, NEBOSH, or equivalent
• Previous experience working for an EPC contractor, engineering company, or large construction organisation
• Strong petrochemical construction project experience
• Practical construction site background
• Good understanding of HSE management systems
• Experience implementing behaviour-based safety programmes and safety culture initiatives
• Fluent English communication skills
• Right to work within the EU
