HSE Supervisor

The HSE Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across construction, installation, and maintenance projects in Egypt. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, at least 7 years’ HSE experience, and fluency in Arabic and English. Long Description

Position: HSE Supervisor

Main Responsibilities

• Supervise hazard identification and risk assessments for construction, installation, maintenance, and operational activities during both day and night shifts.
• Review Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and procedures to ensure safety risks are identified and controlled before work begins.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety surveillance to verify compliance with project HSE plans, company OH&S requirements, and legal regulations.
• Ensure safe selection, certification, inspection, and use of equipment, including cranes, forklifts, lifting gear, scaffolding, and temporary works.
• Monitor lifting operations and other high-risk activities, ensuring permits, lifting plans, PPE, competent personnel, and safe working procedures are followed.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, and accidents; maintain records and track corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure emergency response arrangements are implemented and effective, including drills, evacuation procedures, communication systems, and emergency equipment.
• Conduct toolbox talks, inductions, safety meetings, training, and awareness activities.
• Coordinate with project teams and subcontractors to implement the company OH&S Management System and support HSE-related initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with expertise related to the railway field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years in a full-time Health, Safety, and/or Environmental role.
  • Experience in railway environments and construction and/or maintenance projects.
  • Knowledge of local and international HSE standards and requirements.

Language Requirements

• Arabic and English: Mandatory.
• French: Is a Plus.

Overall Purpose

The HSE Supervisor is responsible for overseeing health, safety, and environmental compliance on project sites, ensuring safe work practices, risk control, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, incident management, and the effective implementation of the company’s OH&S Management System while promoting a strong safety culture across all operations.
