The role is based in Sydney and will involve travel to the Adelaide site as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain HSEQ management systems, policies, procedures and documentation.
- Develop, review and implement Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), risk assessments and safe work procedures.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews, following up on corrective actions.
- Support incident reporting, investigations and the implementation of preventative measures.
- Monitor compliance with relevant WHS legislation, standards and client requirements.
- Work with project managers, supervisors, subcontractors and site teams to identify and manage risks.
- Coordinate inductions, toolbox talks, training and other safety initiatives.
- Maintain accurate HSEQ records, registers and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety systems, processes and overall HSEQ performance.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in an HSEQ, WHS or HSE role within civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and construction safety requirements.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing SWMS, policies, procedures and HSEQ documentation.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of HSEQ systems and compliance.
- Experience conducting audits, site inspections and incident investigations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with site teams and management.
- A proactive, organised and practical approach to workplace health and safety.
- Relevant WHS or HSEQ qualifications.
- A current driver's license and willingness to travel to Adelaide as required.
What's on Offer?
- Opportunity to take ownership of HSEQ across civil construction operations.
- A varied role combining systems management, documentation and site engagement.
