New Zealand Pump & Energy (NZPE)

An exciting opportunity exists to join a newly formed, fast-growing Pump and Power rental business within New Zealand as a HSEQ Coordinator.

New Zealand Pump & Energy (NZPE) is a specialist provider of pump and generator equipment hire, sales, and solution contracting services. Following the recent acquisition and merger of two smaller well-established businesses, NZPE is rapidly emerging within the New Zealand market. We currently operate dedicated branches in North Auckland, South Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch with additional branches opening soon.

NZPE has invested heavily in brand-new, state-of-the-art equipment and recently established modern branches and service facilities across both the North and South Islands, creating an exciting platform for continued growth.

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HSEQ Coordinator to support the delivery and continuous improvement of our Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality systems. This is a hands-on role working closely with operational teams to promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance, and drive best practice across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of HSEQ systems, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Lead and assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Maintain HSEQ documentation, records, and compliance registers
  • Coordinate and deliver inductions, training, and toolbox talks
  • Monitor compliance with relevant legislation and company standards
  • Support environmental management and sustainability initiatives
  • Track, analyse, and report on HSEQ performance metrics
  • Promote a proactive and positive safety culture across all operations

About You

  • Previous experience in a HSEQ, Health & Safety, or similar role
  • Sound knowledge of HSEQ legislation and requirements
  • Relevant qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or Quality (desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and organisational ability
  • Proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and reporting systems
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required to support our New Zealand branch network

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary package
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression
  • Exposure to diverse projects and operational environments
  • Flexible working arrangements where possible

How to Apply
If you are passionate about safety, quality, and environmental performance and want to make a real impact, we encourage you to apply. Please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining your experience and suitability.

Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
