Human Resource Assistant

About the role

This role encompasses administrative, recruitment, payroll, and record maintenance responsibilities within a human resources function.

Key responsibilities

• Answer employee questions and provide customer service to organization employees
• Process incoming mail and prepare and distribute documents
• Maintain computer systems by updating and entering data
• Set appointments and arrange meetings
• Compile reports and spreadsheets
• Monitor daily attendance with assistance from Security and follow up on late comers and no-shows
• Participate in recruitment efforts, post job ads, and organize resumes and job applications
• Schedule job interviews and assist in the interview process
• Ensure background and reference checks are completed
• Process payroll, including tracking annual leave and sick time in the payroll database

About you

• Able to prepare new employee files and orient new employees to the organization
• Capable of maintaining current HR files and databases
• Able to update and maintain employee benefits, employment status, and similar records
• Able to maintain records related to grievances, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
• Able to perform file audits to ensure all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
