Role Overview

The Associate – Human Resources will support end-to-end HR operations with a core focus on recruitment and talent acquisition, alongside onboarding, HR documentation, payroll coordination, statutory compliance, and learning & development initiatives. Given the organisation's focus on skill development, this role also carries a distinct scope to support the design and coordination of skilling programmes, training interventions, and competency-building activities. The selected candidate will work closely with the HR Manager and cross-functional teams to build a strong hiring pipeline, ensure seamless people operations, and support workforce capability building aligned with organisational and industry goals.

Roles & Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment (Core Focus)

  • Own end-to-end recruitment cycles - job posting, sourcing, screening, interview scheduling, and candidate coordination across multiple roles.
  • Build and manage talent pipelines using job portals, LinkedIn Recruiter, employee referrals, and campus/industry tie-ups.
  • Conduct resume screening and telephonic/preliminary interviews to assess candidate fit against role requirements.
  • Maintain and optimise the applicant tracking system (ATS), ensuring accurate candidate records and pipeline hygiene.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers on role scoping, interview panels, feedback collection, and offer finalisation.
  • Negotiate and roll out offers, and track candidate acceptance and joining status.
  • Drive employer branding, social media recruitment, campus outreach, and recruitment drives to strengthen the talent funnel.
  • Track recruitment metrics — time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and offer-to-joining ratios — to improve hiring efficiency.

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Coordinate pre-joining formalities, document verification, and induction logistics for new joiners.
  • Facilitate onboarding experiences including orientation, system access, and team introductions.
  • Maintain employee records and lifecycle documentation from joining through separation, including offboarding and exit formalities.

HR Operations, Payroll & Compliance

  • Maintain HRMS records, employee databases, and people-related trackers; prepare offer, appointment, and confirmation letters and other HR correspondence.
  • Support attendance/leave tracking, payroll input preparation, and resolution of payroll queries in coordination with finance.
  • Support statutory compliance activities (PF, ESIC, PT, gratuity) and coordinate with auditors on HR regulatory requirements.

Learning, Development & Skill Enablement

  • Coordinate training and skill development programmes, workshops, and capacity-building sessions for internal teams and project beneficiaries.
  • Support competency-building initiatives, training calendars, feedback forms, and programme evaluation summaries.
  • Liaise with trainers and vendors, and support development of training materials and assessment frameworks.

Engagement, Performance & Reporting

  • Support employee engagement activities, internal communication, and performance appraisal coordination.
  • Prepare HR MIS reports, recruitment trackers, attrition reports, and workforce analytics summaries for management review.

Skills

Required Skills

  • Recruitment & HR Operations: Sound knowledge of end-to-end recruitment and HR processes including sourcing, onboarding, documentation, payroll support, and compliance.
  • Sourcing & Screening: Hands-on experience with sourcing techniques (Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, job portals) and candidate assessment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination with candidates, employees, and stakeholders.
  • MS Office Proficiency: Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint for HR/recruitment reporting and documentation.
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy in maintaining candidate pipelines, HR records, and compliance requirements.
  • Statutory Compliance Awareness: Basic understanding of labour laws, PF, ESIC, payroll compliance, and applicable statutory requirements.

Desired Skills

  • HRMS & ATS Platforms: Familiarity with ATS and HRMS tools such as Keka, Darwinbox, Zoho People, or GreytHR.
  • Employer Branding: Exposure to campus hiring, employer branding, and social media recruitment initiatives.
  • Learning & Development: Interest in and exposure to skill development frameworks, training coordination, and competency-building.
  • Data & Reporting: Ability to prepare HR/recruitment dashboards and analytical summaries using MS Excel or Google Sheets.

Tools & Technical Proficiency

Mandatory: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Google Workspace, HRMS Platform (Keka / Zoho People / Darwinbox or equivalent), Job Portals (Naukri / LinkedIn Recruiter).

Desired: Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Power BI / Google Data Studio, Survey & Feedback Tools (Google Forms, SurveyMonkey), Basic LMS or e-Learning Platform familiarity.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is people-centric, recruitment-driven, organised, and passionate about human resource management and skill development. Candidates with prior experience in recruitment/talent acquisition, HR operations, training coordination, or skilling organisations will be preferred, along with exposure to competency frameworks, performance management, statutory HR compliance, and learning & development functions.
