About the Role
You will support Lendzi’s 35 current employees and lead recruiting across sales, retention, management, marketing, technology, and other functions. Expected sales recruiting volume is approximately 20 roles per calendar year, with additional hiring based on approved business needs. You will own day-to-day HR operations, onboarding, employee support, and performance-process administration, partnering with leadership and managers to maintain clear expectations, consistent documentation, and timely follow-through.
HR is the primary focus of this role. You will also manage Austin office operations and coordinate with designated contacts at our other offices. You will work with leadership, payroll and benefits providers, and outside advisors on matters requiring specialized guidance or approval.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruiting and Hiring
· Manage recruiting across sales, retention, management, marketing, technology, and other approved positions in partnership with hiring managers. Plan for approximately 20 sales roles per calendar year, plus hiring needs in other functions.
· Draft and post job advertisements, source candidates, review resumes, and conduct initial screening interviews tailored to each role.
· Coordinate interviews, collect feedback, communicate with candidates, and keep applicant records current.
· Coordinate references and approved pre-employment screening through designated providers.
· Prepare offer documents within approved compensation parameters and build candidate pipelines for recurring hiring needs.
Employee Relations and Performance
· Serve as a trusted first point of contact for employee questions and workplace concerns; document issues objectively, protect confidentiality, and escalate sensitive matters promptly.
· Support managers with clear performance expectations, review cycles, attendance documentation, coaching, and performance improvement plans.
· Track follow-up dates and completion of performance plans, and help managers maintain consistent, timely records.
· Coordinate employee development with managers and the sales trainer; support promotion, retention, and staffing discussions with relevant employee data.
· Coordinate disciplinary and separation documentation with leadership and appropriate advisors; leadership retains final employment decisions.
HR Operations and Employee Support
· Manage onboarding and offboarding, including employment documents, orientation, checklists, equipment return, and access coordination with IT and managers.
· Maintain accurate, confidential personnel files and HR system records, including employment changes and required documentation.
· Coordinate benefits enrollment, annual open enrollment, employee questions, and provider follow-up.
· Coordinate payroll changes, time-off records, leave requests, and accommodation processes with leadership and designated providers.
· Administer approved policies and handbook updates consistently across offices; coordinate required training and acknowledgments.
· Help maintain required employment records and workplace practices across applicable locations, working with external HR or legal advisors when needed.
· Provide leadership with concise updates on hiring, headcount, turnover, onboarding, and outstanding HR actions.
Office Operations
· Own daily Austin office operations, including supplies, vendors, facilities requests, equipment coordination, mail, and building-management communication.
· Coordinate office needs at other locations through local contacts and approved vendors.
· Organize employee events, meetings, visitors, and workplace logistics within approved budgets.
· Track office spending and invoices, identify practical savings, and support defined workplace projects as assigned.
Qualifications
· At least 3 years of progressive HR generalist or people operations experience, including recruiting, employee relations, and performance documentation.
· Experience independently managing onboarding, benefits coordination, confidential records, and competing deadlines.
· Strong judgment, discretion, integrity, communication, and follow-through; comfortable supporting employees while holding managers accountable for process completion.
· Working knowledge of employment practices and the ability to recognize when specialized guidance is needed.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with HR, payroll, benefits, applicant-tracking, and collaboration systems.
· Experience supporting a sales organization, multiple offices, or financial services is preferred. Office management experience is a plus.
