What they need

Tangent International are looking for a Country HR Business Partner to work a 6 month extendable contract based in Amsterdam.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

The Country HR Business Partner (Co-) Manager for BeNeLux is a critical, dual-focused role designed to drive and support the region's overall people transformation strategy. The successful candidate will provide both high-level strategic advisory and "hands-on" operational support on all transformational initiatives and standard HR Business Partner activities across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

As the local custodian of HR policies and procedures, you will ensure organizational effectiveness, alignment with Code of Conduct, and a healthy workplace culture. This role requires building strong, collaborative partnerships with in-country HRBP leaders, Functional HRBPs (FHRBPs), Centers of Excellence (COEs), and the HR Answers team to resolve complex, sensitive procedural issues and navigate collective social partner landscapes.

Principal Job Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance & Legislative Safeguarding: Ensure and support 100% compliance with all regional labor laws and statutory requirements across the BeNeLux countries.
  • Works Council & Social Partner Relations: Take a lead role in managing the in-country local Works Council agenda, with a distinct operational focus on negotiating collective measures and transformational organizational activities.
  • Employment Legal Partnership: Maintain a closely aligned, day-to-day cooperation with the Employment Legal team to ensure all operational decisions, collective bargaining agreements, and policy rollouts are legally sound and bulletproof.
  • Change & Transformation Management: Seamlessly implement and govern organizational changes rolled out by the business or HR. Ensure all actions are executed with procedural accuracy, legally compliant processes, and within tight business-critical timeframes.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively analyze country-specific employment risks. Design and implement robust mitigation plans in close coordination with both the internal Employment Legal team and external legal counsel.
  • Complex Employee Relations: Directly manage and resolve sensitive Employee Relations (ER) cases, ensuring all key stakeholders are kept informed and business risks are minimized.

Required Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications & Competencies:

Education & Experience

  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Professional Track Record: 7+ years of progressive HR Business Partner or HR leadership experience within a dynamic, global, and highly matrixed organization.
  • Collective Bargaining Expertise: Proven hands-on experience building productive relationships and leading successful negotiations with Works Councils, including managing complex collective measures.

Core Competencies & Skills

  • Strategic & Tactical Agility: Natural ability to move with ease between high-level strategic planning and hands-on tactical implementation.
  • HR Process Depth: Deep, practical knowledge of HR operational processes, tools, and change management methodologies in the BeNeLux region.
  • Influencing & Relationship Building: Skilled communicator with a proven talent for building strong, trusted relationships and positively influencing stakeholders across diverse cultural environments.
  • Resilience & Adaptability: A high level of personal resilience, an open mindset toward change, and a results-oriented approach to customer-focused HR delivery.

Language Requirements

  • Required: Full professional fluency in English and Dutch(written and spoken).
  • Highly Preferred: Professional proficiency in French is highly desirable to effectively partner with local employees and social partners across the BeNeLux region.
