Senior HR Business Partner (Contract)

The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join a leading global organisation on an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering strategic HR initiatives, supporting organisational transformation and ensuring effective people management across a complex, international business.

Working closely with senior leadership, regional HR teams and employment legal specialists, you will provide both strategic guidance and hands-on HR support, with a particular focus on employee relations, Works Council engagement and organisational change.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver HR initiatives aligned with business objectives and regional transformation programmes.
• Manage complex employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with Belgian employment legislation and internal policies.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with Works Councils, employee representatives and social partners.
• Support collective consultation processes, organisational restructuring and change management initiatives.
• Work closely with employment legal teams and external counsel to mitigate employment-related risks.
• Ensure HR policies, processes and procedures remain compliant with local statutory requirements.
• Collaborate with regional HR Business Partners, Centres of Excellence and shared services teams.
• Provide practical, commercially focused HR advice in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

About You

We are looking for an established HR professional who can confidently balance strategic HR partnering with operational delivery.

Essential experience:

• 7+ years of HR Business Partner or senior HR generalist experience, ideally within a multinational organisation.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian employment legislation and employee relations practices.
• Proven experience working directly with Works Councils, trade unions or employee representative bodies.
• Experience supporting organisational transformation, restructuring and collective consultation processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive and complex HR matters independently.
• Professional fluency in English and Dutch.

Highly desirable:

• French language proficiency.
• Experience operating within a global matrix organisation.
• Previous experience partnering with employment legal teams on complex HR matters.
