Human Resources Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join AWERA RESORT on a contract basis. This is a pivotal role within our Human Resources team, based in the stunning Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra. As Human Resources Coordinator, you will provide essential support to our HR operations, ensuring smooth administrative processes and contributing to a positive workplace culture across our resort. This position is integral to maintaining our organisational efficiency and supporting our diverse team in this unique island setting.

Key responsibilities

• Processing and maintaining employee records, including recruitment documents, employment contracts, and personnel files
• Supporting the recruitment process by coordinating job postings, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and managing candidate communication
• Assisting with employee onboarding and induction programmes to ensure new staff are effectively integrated into the resort
• Coordinating the administration of payroll, leave management, and benefits programmes
• Scheduling and organising HR meetings, training sessions, and staff events
• Preparing HR reports and maintaining accurate HR databases and management systems
• Supporting the delivery of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance across the organisation
• Responding to employee enquiries regarding HR matters and providing general administrative support
• Assisting with performance management processes and documentation
• Supporting health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives for employees

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in a Human Resources coordinator, administrator, or similar HR support role
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with proficiency in both written and verbal English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR management systems or databases
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation
• Knowledge of employment law, HR practices, and workplace compliance standards
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information professionally
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work
• Experience in hospitality or resort operations is highly advantageous
• Willingness to work in a remote island location and adapt to our unique working environment
