Human Resources Coordinator

This position reports to the Manager – Human Resources and will generally work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment

• Lead and assist with the recruitment and selection process
• Review resumes, conduct phone screens, and lead interviews
• Manage applicant tracking and document the candidate lifecycle in our HRIS
• Communicate with candidates throughout the recruitment process
• Represent Inland Steel Products at career fairs and recruitment events

Onboarding and Offboarding

• Lead new hire orientation
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding tasks with all departments
• Track employee milestone events and prepare related documentation

Human Resources Support

• Respond to inquiries and support team members
• Prepare employee documentation
• Maintain employee file records
• Lead social committee initiatives
• Participate in and promote our safety program

Payroll and Benefits Support

• Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing, payroll reporting, and year-end requirements
• Administer group benefit and RRSP enrolments and changes, and assist employees with benefit and disability forms
• Complete government wage and salary surveys

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business with a major in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in the Human Resources functions of recruitment, onboarding, or administration
• Working knowledge of Human Resources best practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with HRIS software and Microsoft Office (UKG Ready experience is an asset)
• A high level of integrity and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse workforce at all levels of the organization
• A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and the ability to travel to company locations and events
