About the Role

We are looking for an experienced HR Director to build and lead the HR and administration function for a new valve manufacturing facility in India.

  • Compliance & employee relations:

Oversee labour and statutory compliance, contractor obligations, employee relations, grievance handling, and disciplinary processes.

  • Compensation & HR operations:

Establish salary structures, benefits, payroll controls, and systems for employee records, attendance, and leave.

  • Performance & development:

Implement performance management, KPIs, training, and competency management aligned with business needs and applicable ISO requirements.

  • Culture & engagement:

Build a culture of safety, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Plant administration:

Oversee facilities support, security, housekeeping, canteen, transport, administrative vendors, and related budgets. Coordinate expatriate support where required.

Candidate Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibility in manufacturing or industrial facilities in India.
  • Proven ability to establish or scale HR functions, policies, and systems.
  • Strong expertise in Indian labour legislation, plant-level statutory compliance, industrial relations, and contract labour management.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting engineering professionals, production teams, and skilled workers.
  • Experience managing HR budgets, compensation, payroll, and performance processes.
  • Experience in an international organization with structured governance and reporting.
  • Familiarity with competency management and HR requirements in ISO-certified or audited environments.
  • Strong business judgment, stakeholder management skills, and willingness to work hands-on.
  • Fluency in English and Marathi.

Preferred:

Greenfield plant experience; background in engineering, energy, nuclear, oil & gas, aerospace, or other quality-regulated industries; experience supporting expatriates; employee training experience; relevant degree or postgraduate qualification.
