If you enjoy a variety of HR responsibilities, like being a trusted resource for others, and are looking for an opportunity to grow your HR career while making a difference, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll have the opportunity to make an impact across a broad range of Human Resources functions, including:

Payroll & HR Systems

  • Process and audit payroll and employee changes.
  • Maintain accurate HR and payroll records and systems.
  • Research and resolve routine payroll and HR system issues.
  • Provide backup support for payroll-related responsibilities.

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Manage recruitment activities from job posting through onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers throughout the selection process.
  • Coordinate interviews, pre-employment requirements, and new-hire documentation.
  • Help create a positive and consistent candidate and onboarding experience.

Benefits & Leave

  • Administer employee benefits, enrollment, qualifying life events, and changes.
  • Coordinate employee leave programs and related documentation.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for employees and leaders.
  • Work with benefit providers and third-party partners to resolve issues.

Performance & Employee Relations

  • Support annual and ongoing performance management processes.
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers regarding HR policies and processes.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for routine employee questions and concerns.
  • Handle routine employee relations matters with professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
  • Partner with the HR Director on complex or sensitive matters.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate personnel records and HR documentation.
  • Assist with HR compliance, reporting, audits, and recordkeeping.
  • Prepare routine HR reports and information.
  • Help ensure HR policies and practices are applied consistently.

Process Improvement & HR Projects

  • Take ownership of assigned HR processes and projects from start to finish.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR efficiency, consistency, compliance, and the employee experience.
  • Help develop and improve HR procedures, forms, resources, and communications.
  • Participate in employee engagement initiatives and organizational projects.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • 1–3 years of Human Resources or related experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, and relevant HR experience.
  • Knowledge of general HR principles, practices, and employment requirements.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating with others.
  • Comfort managing multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn HR and payroll systems.
  • A commitment to providing excellent internal service and continuously developing your HR knowledge.

What We Offer

At FAFCU, we believe investing in our employees is an important part of our mission: Strengthening Our Communities; Investing In Your Success.

Our benefits are designed to support you both at work and at home, including:

  • Professional development and learning opportunities
  • Opportunities for growth and career development

You'll also join a workplace built around our core values of Respect, Integrity, Empowerment, Passion, and Innovation.

What Success Looks Like

We're looking for someone who doesn't simply complete tasks, but takes ownership.

In this role, you'll be successful when you:

  • Follow your responsibilities and projects through to completion.
  • Provide employees and leaders with responsive, professional, and solutions-focused HR support.
  • Keep HR processes accurate, timely, consistent, and confidential.
  • Identify opportunities to make HR processes better and take action to improve them.
  • Build trust with employees and leaders across the organization.
  • Know when to independently solve a problem and when to partner with the HR Director.
  • Bring initiative, accountability, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn.
