Position Summary

We are looking for a versatile HR Generalist to support our human resources department. You will handle daily operations across the entire employee lifecycle—from hiring and onboarding to compliance and employee support.

The Human Resources Generalist manages a broad range of day-to-day HR activities for our Louisville distribution facility, Clearwater headquarters, and Canadian operations. This role leads onboarding, benefits, employee records, training, and employee programs, and supports the full life-cycle recruiting process. Working with managers and HR partners across locations, the Generalist responds to employee questions, keeps processes and records accurate, and identifies issues that need follow up or escalation. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of HR practices, strong communication skills, and the ability to foster a positive workplace culture.

Recruiting and Onboarding

  • Lead recruiting processes for assigned positions across locations, including postings, application review, phone screens, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and employment screenings.
  • Partner with hiring managers on hiring needs and timelines; coordinate with temporary staffing agencies and maintain applicant records.
  • Prepare offer letters and hiring documents. Coordinate orientation, HR system setup, IT access requests, new hire checklists, and peer support for new employees.
  • Facilitate new hire check ins, gather feedback to make process improvements, and follow up on onboarding tasks.

Payroll and Benefits

  • Prepare and submit periodic payroll files as needed throughout the year. Communicate individual payroll adjustments, reimbursements, bonuses, and discrepancies to the payroll team for processing and follow up on questions as needed.
  • Maintain records for incentive, attendance recognition, and employee referral programs.
  • Support the HR team and employees with benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and open enrollment activities; assist employees with routine benefits questions and refer complex matters to the appropriate HR leader.

HR Operations and Employee Support

  • Maintain personnel files, HR systems, and confidential employee information; prepare employment letters and other HR documents.
  • Support the HR Team with employee status changes, leaves of absence, and terminations in each location.
  • Facilitate exit and stay interviews, gathering feedback and partnering with HR leadership for appropriate actions.
  • Support employee recognition, service awards, the quarterly newsletter, engagement activities, and assigned HR projects.
  • Partner with HR leadership in employee investigations, disciplinary and performance management activities, as well as support other HR processes such as merit planning, talent and succession planning, Goal Setting, mid-year reviews and development programs.

Compliance Training and Reporting

  • Track required training, assist with training coordination and facilitation, and follow up on completion of new hire and job training checklists.
  • Prepare monthly HR metrics and support compliance reporting, audits, required postings, and related administrative tasks across supported locations.
  • Assist with projects and administrative support for workplace safety and other assigned HR programs.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in HR, recruiting, benefits administration, or related HR operations.
  • Working knowledge of HR practices and employment requirements, with the judgment to route location specific questions to the appropriate HR partner or subject matter expert.
  • Experience using HRIS systems, applicant tracking tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and service skills; ability to manage competing deadlines and handle sensitive information discreetly.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field; HR certification such as SHRM CP or PHR; and experience supporting multiple locations, a distribution or manufacturing workforce, a call center, or Canadian employees.

Work Environment

This position is based in Louisville and supports employees and managers in Louisville, Clearwater, and Canada. The role works across locations in a deadline driven environment. Duties may evolve with business needs.
