Join us to be part of an energetic team dedicated to fostering a thriving workplace where every employee feels valued!

Salon Lofts is looking for an experienced, highly organized, and collaborative Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on HR role for someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable managing multiple areas of Human Resources. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the HR Generalist will serve as a trusted resource to leaders and team members while supporting employee relations, performance management, leave administration, benefits, compliance, recruiting, onboarding, HR systems, and other HR operations.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of broad-based HR experience, excellent judgment, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. This person should also be highly comfortable with technology and working with data. Excellent computer skills are required, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Paychex Flex strongly preferred.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a trusted HR resource to leaders and team members regarding policies, employee relations, performance, and day-to-day HR matters.
  • Advise managers on performance management, coaching, corrective action, attendance, workplace conduct, and employee concerns.
  • Conduct and support workplace investigations, document findings, and recommend appropriate next steps.
  • Assist with performance improvement plans, corrective-action documentation, and other employee communications.
  • Interpret and consistently apply Company policies and HR practices.
  • Administer employee leaves and accommodations, including FMLA, ADA-related accommodations, workers' compensation coordination, and other applicable leave programs.
  • Support benefits administration, employee eligibility, enrollment, qualifying life events, and annual open enrollment.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit carrier invoices against employee elections, payroll deductions, and Company contributions.
  • Reconcile employee and employer benefit contributions and research discrepancies between carrier invoices, payroll, and HRIS records.
  • Partner with benefit carriers, brokers, Payroll, and Finance to resolve billing, enrollment, deduction, and contribution discrepancies.
  • Support recruiting, candidate screening, onboarding, and new-hire processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee information, records, and documentation within the HRIS.
  • Partner with Payroll to research and resolve HRIS and payroll discrepancies.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze HR reports and data using Excel and other technology tools.
  • Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities to improve HR processes and internal controls.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives that support our growing organization.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in an HR Generalist or similar broad-based HR role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated employee relations and performance-management experience.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience administering FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and employee leave programs preferred.
  • Experience with benefits administration, including benefit invoice and contribution reconciliation, strongly preferred.
  • Excellent computer and technology skills are required.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills strongly preferred, including the ability to work effectively with spreadsheets, formulas, data reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Paychex Flex experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting a geographically dispersed or multi-location workforce is a plus.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.

What Will Make You Successful

You're likely to thrive in this role if you are someone who:

  • Exercises sound judgment and can independently evaluate HR issues and recommend solutions.
  • Is exceptionally organized and detail-oriented.
  • Is comfortable working with data and investigating discrepancies until they are resolved.
  • Enjoys balancing employee-facing HR responsibilities with detailed operational work.
  • Communicates professionally and effectively with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Can manage multiple priorities without losing attention to detail.
  • Is comfortable learning and working across multiple technology platforms.
  • Takes ownership of responsibilities and follows issues through to resolution.
  • Handles confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Works effectively and independently in a remote environment while remaining highly collaborative and responsive.
  • Enjoys working in a growing, evolving, and fast-paced organization.
