The Human Resources Generalist provides hands-on HR support across the employee lifecycle and serves as a trusted resource to employees and managers. The position supports recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HR systems, performance management, compliance, training, and general HR administration.

This position is particularly well suited for an experienced HR professional seeking a part-time or flexible work arrangement while continuing to perform meaningful, broad-based HR work.

The successful candidate will be approachable, highly organized, responsive, and comfortable moving between employee questions, manager support, HR administration, and special projects.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Manager Support

· Serve as an accessible HR resource for employees and managers regarding policies, benefits, workplace practices, and general employment questions.

· Provide guidance to managers regarding employee relations and performance-management situations.

· Assist with employee concerns, investigations, corrective actions, and documentation as appropriate.

· Promote consistent application of company policies and HR practices.

· Help identify employee-relations trends and recommend appropriate actions.

· Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding employee and company information.

Recruiting & Onboarding

· Support recruiting activities for hourly, professional, and management positions.

· Coordinate job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and pre-employment activities.

· Partner with hiring managers throughout the recruiting and selection process.

· Prepare offer documentation and coordinate pre-employment requirements.

· Coordinate new-hire onboarding and orientation.

· Ensure employee documentation and HR systems are updated accurately and timely.

· Assist managers in creating a positive and effective onboarding experience.

Benefits & Employee Support

· Assist employees with questions regarding medical, dental, vision, retirement, leave, and other benefit programs.

· Support benefits enrollment and qualifying-life-event changes.

· Assist with annual open enrollment.

· Coordinate with benefit providers and internal resources to resolve employee benefit questions.

· Support administration of leaves of absence and other employee programs.

Performance Management & Talent Development

· Support the company's performance-management process.

· Assist managers with goal setting, performance discussions, development planning, and documentation.

· Coordinate performance-review activities and maintain appropriate records.

· Assist with succession planning, talent assessments, and employee development initiatives.

· Support training and leadership-development programs.

HR Administration & Systems

· Maintain accurate employee information within HR systems and personnel records.

· Process employee changes including new hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.

· Prepare HR reports and assist with HR metrics and dashboards.

· Maintain organizational charts and employee records.

· Support payroll by ensuring employee changes are communicated accurately and timely.

· Assist with employment verification and other employee documentation.

Compliance

· Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.

· Assist with required employment notices, records, and reporting.

· Support administration of FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, and applicable state leave requirements.

· Assist with required employee training, including harassment prevention and workplace safety-related HR training.

· Maintain personnel records according to company retention and confidentiality requirements.

HR Projects & Continuous Improvement

· Participate in HR initiatives related to employee engagement, compensation, talent management, organizational development, and workforce planning.

· Assist the VP of Human Resources with special projects and strategic HR initiatives.

· Provide additional HR support based on changing business needs.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

· 3–7 years of broad Human Resources experience preferred.

· Prior HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or similar experience strongly preferred.

· Experience supporting employees and managers in a manufacturing, distribution, building-products, or similar operating environment is beneficial.

· Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.

· SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.

WindsorONE recognizes that highly experienced HR professionals may be seeking greater flexibility in their careers. This position has been specifically structured to accommodate a part-time schedule, anticipated at approximately 20–30 hours per week, while maintaining meaningful responsibility and involvement in the HR function.

Scheduling may be structured around business and employee needs and could include a combination of established office hours and flexibility where appropriate.

The position may also provide an opportunity to expand in scope or hours in the future based on the needs of the business and the interests of the successful candidate.

This is not simply an administrative part-time HR position. It provides an experienced HR professional the opportunity to remain actively involved in employee relations, recruiting, talent management, benefits, compliance, and HR initiatives while maintaining a more flexible work schedule.

The position offers meaningful HR responsibility without necessarily requiring a traditional full-time schedule.
