Human Resources (HR) Manager

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing organisation (200–400 staff) for a dynamic and experienced HR Manager to build and lead their Human Resources function from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who thrives on building systems, shaping culture, and making a real impact — from day one.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Establishing the company's HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook from scratch
• Managing the full recruitment cycle — from job briefs to onboarding
• Handling employee relations: grievances, disciplinary matters, performance management, and conflict resolution
• Reviewing and recommending a competitive compensation and benefits structure
• Ensuring full compliance with the Nigerian Labour Laws and other applicable regulations
• Managing statutory obligations: PAYE, pension, NSITF (Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund), NHF (National Housing Fund)
• Developing and delivering a training and development plan across all departments
• Maintaining accurate employee records and producing HR reports for senior management
• Acting as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director on all people matters

What We Are Looking For

Required:

• Minimum of 5 years' progressive HR management experience
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional HR certification: CIPM (Chartered Institute of Personnel Management), SHRM-CP, PHRi, or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian Labour Law and HR compliance requirements
• Proven ability to work independently and build HR systems with minimal supervision
• High emotional intelligence and the ability to handle sensitive matters with full discretion
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Advantageous:

• Prior experience setting up or restructuring an HR department
• Experience in a mid-to-large organisation (200+ staff)
• Familiarity with HR Information Systems (HRIS) or payroll platforms
